Here, along the western shore
of Seattle’s Lake Washington is Colman Park,
a cement bridge is covered thickly in a deep, lush layer of emerald green moss
vividly lit by sunlight filtered through the bare branches of the canopy above.

Isn’t there simply something about moss that begs one to touch,
to feel it’s cushioning thickness and see how it transforms ordinary uninteresting objects
with their usual sharp defining edges and detail into ones
that are softened, rounded, more subtle.

Nice. Like a soft bench along the road :)
I love the moss in our area – sometimes we drive through the woods just to see the moss covering all the trees – it gives a whole different feel to the area. Love your shot of the moss – it looks so soft!!!
A beautiful bridge…moss green!…:)JP
It is gorgeous – though I hope not a bridge for walking on.
That is amazing.
Oh yes. I couldn’t, wouldn’t keep my fingers at bay. I’d spend some time at this scene.
How pretty. I love the feel of soft green moss.
How lovely this is.
This is just fabulous, Marge! I’m looking forward to visiting your west coast soon. No green here in northern MN yet, I long for it! :)
