Seattle’s Pike Place Market is the place to go in town for fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and meats.
: : :
‘Meet the Producer,’ has been the slogan of the Pike Place Market for 106 years,
bringing small farmers and businesses together directly with their customers,
without the middle man.
: : :
I find the market enchanting, the sights, sounds, smells, people and activities are captivating.
For a photographer the colors and constantly changing scenes makes for lively photo ops at every turn.
Breakfast at market cafes begins at 6am, fish mongers open at 7 and general produce and craft vendors open at 9.
: : :
Here looking south near the Athenian Cafe at about 10 past 8, the market begins to wake up for the day’s business ahead,
some early shoppers are strolling along the main arcade,
looking for bargains
fresh flowers
fish
or
fun.

Great display. Love the colors in this.
Would love to browse the aisles with you someday Madge. :)
This is beautiful. Madge. I’v always heard of that market but have never had the opportunity to get to Seattle yet! One day!
Isn’t that the market where they throw fish around and every ‘team building’ video includes them working so well together?
Oops! I forgot to say: Your photo is very colorful and interesting!
Great shot, lovely colours!
Have a great day!
Oh…this reminds me just a little of the Central Market here in Lanaster PA. I love market, and wish I lived close enough to walk…although i would’t trade living in the country!
Madge, you overcome lower light conditions and came up with an interesting weekly top shot. Well done.
What a beautiful way to start the day. Your photos are always inspiring, Madge… once again, spectacular color!
Lovely colourful shot, Madge.
Thanks for hosting.
You take the best photos, Madge! So many dynamic colors makes it look like an exciting place to be :)
Beautiful photo! What an awesome market!
I long to visit Seattle one day! Beautiful photo…love the rich colors!
Neat photo! I’ve been to Seattle just once in my life. The traffic scared me to death. After all, I’m from a little one-horse town with gravel streets in NE Montana!
I have never been to Seattle, but it is on my bucket list. Your shot is beautiful!
Such a neat photo! I’ve always wanted to visit this market. Maybe someday :)
How neat! I wish we had access to a market like this.
such a colorful and clear shot! Great to see fresh produce in a mall ~ Wow! ~ Enjoy ^_^
You make the mundane so interesting. Thanks for this.
This is a beautiful picture! I love the all the colors of the fruit stand…a great perspective too.
great color and variety in this shot. :)
What a colorful photo of the Market. I was there once and it was a fun place to visit. I got to see the “flying fish” and even bought some salmon there!
A wonderful kaleidoscope of colors. Well done!
a wonderful slogan… the light in this photograph is wonderful Madge.
I absolutely loved Pike Market when we visited a few years ago!! We kept going back to it.
I totally agree :) Thank you for the beautiful party Madge.
What a delight for the senses, particularly the eyes! This is such a welcome sight, for all we’ve been seeing here are gray skies and everything dull and drab.
No link up for me this week but wanted to comment on your definite ‘Top Shot.’ It’s fantastic!
Makes me think of Faneuil Hall in Boston. So wish Atlanta had something like this.
You’ve captured the essence of this vibrant market Madge …. I can imagine in a few hours it would be awash with shoppers.
Looks like a GREAT place for exploring…. and for photo ops!
The fruit and veggies look so neat and tidy. Wonderful colours, Madge! : )
Great image Madge. I too love Pikes! Ü I have to stop by for a visit every time I’m in town visiting my daughter. I vowed however never again to bring my DH along as he’s into shipping those expensive salmon home to Idaho. I also love the troll under the bridge and the Smith building.
I love these market atmosphere .. I can smell the taste of fresh fruits in the air! beautiful image!
best regards
isabella
Great shot. I love markets!
THAT is a very long time for a grocer to be in business! Really, the only grocery that was around when I was a kid was a locally owned one till about 4 or so years ago! The rest just plain disappeared over the years. great color in the produce section!
Oh boy, I could probably spend hours here beginning with breakfast.
Great looking produce.
Fantastic perspective shot and I love the brilliant colour.
love markets like that .. so much fun to wander … so many photo ops
You always find such unique hubs to photograph!
Great-looking market. Love all the colorful produce.
So colorful and probably very flavorful as well!
Wow, look at all the color!
