Mellow yellow… barn… This very large, wood shingled barn sits in a large field north of the abandoned Weiks Everygreen Dairy in what was the pioneer lumberjack town of Bordeaux, WA. I’m wondering if this might have been the original barn for the dairy, but there is no one to ask, so that is just supposition. Several times I’ve been by this barn near Littlerock south of Olympia, it has always been late near dusk, and the fields surrounding the barn have been filled with a very large herd of perhaps forty or fifty elk.

Lovely Madge.
Fantastic mood to this photo- looks like a barn in Bordeaux in France a bit too ;-)
Lovely entry. Nice composition. Margie
so pretty, madge!
Gorgeous barn, love the light, and great composition.
Madge, thanks for your recent visit! I hope your holidays were excellent.. Oh & the old barn, I don’t know what it is but I just love old buildings!
Happy New Years.
I do not see many barns, but this is my first yellow one!
What a beautiful ol barn, but I just don’t understand how people can afford to abandon a home, much less an entire farm! =0 How is that possible? Unless they couldn’t make the mortgage & it’s a foreclosure? Terrible situation, to be sure!
I wish someone would buy the place & restore that old barn, because it looks like a special one! You said Bordeaux & I immediately thought France & that barn looks like it could sit in the French countryside! =)
Thank you very much for joining this week’s Barn Charm, much appreciated! =)
Nice shot of a unique barn. Happy Barn Charm!
Oh, I like this barn…sure looks huge.
It’s a fantastic building. If you compare the size of the roof to the short side wall, makes it look like it’s buried… :-)
Old barns are great photo subjects, but 40-50 elk! That I would like to see!~
That is beautiful!

It’s old and beautiful. I have to research some good photo memes so I can play, too :)
what a beautiful building! never seen a yellow barn before!
When I first saw ‘Bordeaux,’ I immediately thought you had flown to France for the New Year! This is a wonderful photo and I hope there are some elk in your future!
my first yellow barn, and I really like it
I love to look at these old dairy barns and imagine them in their day, full of cow. This would also be neat among a field of yellow wheat.
Wow…what a huge barn…and I love the yellow…very unique!
This is a great barn and captured so well.
Love the roof on this barn! Super!
What an unusual barn! Nice find!
Do you mean it is abandoned? How sad, that is a beautiful barn. It looks like just a really pretty place.
My cousins had a lovely barn in the Salem area in Oregon. We loved it so much.
That breaks my heart it is so pretty.
A beautiful big old barn, such a high roof!
Such wonderful character–love the color and all the windows. :>)
That is the biggest barn I have ever seen and in yellow.
That is one huge barn! Fab photo!
That is a terrific barn! Excellent photo!

Oh gosh, I really like this photo. The color is so charming and you captured it beautifully. Very nice! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Beautiful shot! Like others, I thought you’d nipped off to France to get a little variety in your posts. Don’t you wish? Sad to think such a big operation is gone but farming is tough and it’s so hard to stay viable. . . We have a herd of elk here in Sequim. . .my husband’s seen them but I’ve yet to track them down.
When we come to Bainbridge to see my son and his family this summer, I am going to have to get them to take me to see this Old World looking barn. Gotta put your posting in my bookmarks so I can come back to it. Try to make a mental note of where it was so you can help me out. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! Your capture is drop dead gorgeous. genie
Love the photo-what a barn. I like thinking about it when it was first built-don’t you just know they were so proud of it : )
