Busted…Abandoned…Forlorn… Farm trucks are used forever, well perhaps not quite forever, but certainly for a very long time. Then when they’re usefulness IS over, they are parked, in a field, by the barn, beside the road, to rest forever, well perhaps not quite forever, but certainly for a very long time. Outside the small eastern Washington town of Roslyn, on the lower slopes of the Cascade Mountains begins ranching country. Here a farm or ranch truck has been put out to pasture, resting in a field of weeds, no longer used and useful. The multiple colors on the hood, fenders and bumper was pleasant to the eye, my eye anyway!
Nice shot Madge – looks like it had a tough life, but now it’s retired!
I’m hoping to do that one day… retire! :-)
A beautiful picture that speaks volumes.
I am curious…why is your blog comment section so different. I would think being required to fill all these fields would discourage comments.
Thanks, that old truck has seen better days…. My blog is self-hosted on WordPress, their comments are entered differently than Blogger… Thank YOU for taking the time to leave one!
this one i will have to show to hubby. he is all things GM and refuses to drive it if not made by GM. he drives a 2004 GMC now. beautiful shot of a beautiful old truck.
My husband is a Chevy man, my son Ford… odd how they get stuck on a brand…
There’s nothing like seeing an old worn out truck in the country. Beautiful shot!
They do have a certain attractiveness, don’t they?
but still beautiful.
Yes, I agree!
So much character still there.
Yes… and lots of paint too! Lol!
Old farm trucks have earned their rest, I expect. Someone should plant flowers in the back and pay tribute to their years of service.
Flowers, what a good idea! ;-)
I would love to have that one!
They might be in a selling mood too! ;-)
It looks almost patriotic. My mom just gave my dad’s old truck (I think it was a 1982 GMC) to my cousin who likes to restore old vehicles. It had been in the barn for about six years and we were very surprised when it started without a jump!
Well, there’s a good old truck for you… how terrific it started on the first turn of the key!
