Hot Dog… Frankfurter… Tube Steak…
At the north end of Pike Place Market walking along Pike Place near the corner of Virginia Street, you’ll find Taxi Dogs. You cannot miss this huge 3D hot dog hanging over the sidewalk, it is easily six feet long! A small shop run by two ladies with a penchant for serving delicious dogs your way. Or you can order a Sea-Town Dog, served with grilled onions and cream cheese. Depending upon the city or region where you live, the humble hot dog, is served many ways. Most people like chili, onions, cheese or sauerkraut, with condiments mustard, catchup and mayonnaise. Beside these standard toppings, what do you like that is unusual on your dog?

‘WEEKLY TOP SHOT’ – Meme
I have created a new meme (‘photo sharing party’ or ‘linky group’ called’) Weekly Top SHOT,’ which will open every Saturday morning at 12:01 Pacific Standard Time and close the following Friday evening at 23:59. ‘Weekly Top SHOT,’ is all inclusive, meaning this is not a themed party or linky group. You are welcome to share any kind of photo – rural life, urban life, still life, landscapes, portraits, your choice (family friendly)! You may post one photo, a photo collage, or several photos contained in a single post. So, let me see your top shot!
Link to ‘Weekly Top SHOT,’ this way:
There are just a few rules:
* Your post must be family friendly.
* Submit the url of your blog post, not your home page.
* Link up a photo that was taken by you by clicking on link below, (‘You are next, Click here to enter.’)
* Create a link back here in your blog post – (using the ‘Weekly Top SHOT’ button and a text link.)
* Visit a some other entries and leave comments.
Love that sign. Is it an actual 3D sign or painted that way.
It really is 3D, a walk around hot dog! Huge too!
who knew a hotdog could be pretty
Hard to believe… but there it is! ;-)
Hard to beat a great dog!
I agree, Paul… Do you eat one occasionally at Costco?
Hi Madge, ooo I have to do my weekly Top Shot soon. Maybe I will use Monday for that.
Mmmm Hot dogs–Haven’t had one in a long time and I haven’t been to Seattle for a long tme either. Must go visit. I grew up by GreenLake and Woodland Park.
Yes we were at my Daughter’s place in EW and if you look at earlier blogs you will see her. MB
Ah… I thought you were in eastern WA! I only eat hot dogs once in a while too… mostly Costco though. I do hope you’ll come participate in ‘Weekly Top Shot.’
Now that sounds like a fun weekend lunch spot!
I agree Randy… it gets a lot of tourist traffic from the market!
love my dogs naked, burnt and with mustard. not exactly what you meant, eh? -LOL-
I understand naked and mustard, but burnt… I haven’t tried that!
My friend Rick in Napa, CA, had a shop called Walker’s where he served the best dogs around — all beef hot dogs, beautifully dressed with all the usual toppings, but done with the style of a craftsman. Ahh, now THAT was a hot dog! But, life goes on. Walker’s is closed and now I’m in the PNW and must content myself with Dungeness crab, the best clam chowder in the world, fresh berries, and the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. . .and I can live, happily, with Costco hot dogs.
Walker’s sounds like it was a good place for a bite to eat… I have to admit that if I’m going to have a hot dog these days it is at Costco too, theirs don’t seem to upset my stomach…
Looks fun, bon appetite!
Thanks Karl, yes.. it does look fun!
I’m not a big fan of the hot dog Madge, but if I was going to have one it would be with chilli, because I like chilli with almost everything!! It’s a pretty amazing sign though..big!! I can see how it would attract people to stop in!
Sometimes hotdogs don’t agree with me… most of the time if I have one it is at Costco.
I just love that sign. It is always so nice to see businesses take that extra step to make a sign unique. As far as hot dogs, not my favorite. The only time I eat the is at the ballpark with nothing but yellow mustard.
It really is a unique sign, huge and 3D!
Make mine with piccalilli!
That sounds yummy!
