Looking out the back windows of a historic building in Pioneer Square… Pioneer Square is the historic section of Seattle that once was downtown in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Many red brick buildings remain viable and beautiful, most built after the Great Seattle Fire 1889 which destroyed the entire central business district at that time. Here a trio of windows look out onto Occidental Park through the last green leaves before autumn turned them to gold. There is something attractive and interesting about windows… you look out..you look in..what can you see from here or there?
Love the windows with the brick walls. The wrought iron fire escape adds to the quality of the shot.
I am going to post a shot to the weekly thingie tonight—ok? MB
I love that rich brick color… burnt sienna is one of my favorite colors!
Nice shot Madge! It has been too long since I’ve seen Pioneer Square for myself – used to go there every visit when Elliott Bay Books was there. EBB is another Seattle treasure!
Thanks, Paul… I haven’t been to EBB since they moved up to Capitol Hill, I always loved purusing the shelves…
Lovely brick building I love the colors and how vibrant they are. Thank you for your comment, you are right nothing is insignificant. Thank you for your comment.
Thanks, Kim… I love the colors too!
I love the contrast of the brick and the trim on the windows and the fire escape just makes it perfect. found beauty from your window.
So glad you did….
What a wonderful building. I love the reflection in the window too and the red trim.
All of the Victorian buildings in Pioneer Square are so attractive, the color and textures…

Reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window. If you haven’t seen it, it is a must.

I’d love to have a condo in a building like this (earthquake retro-fitted of course :-) ) it would be a delight!

Wonderful photo. Those red window frames just set everything off so beautifully. Thanks for your visit to my blog.
Very cool! I don’t see much of that around here – too rural!
