Seattle’s Great Wheel is a dominating feature on the downtown waterfront.
: : :
Here,
on a typical gray day in Seattle,
I caught the M/V Tacoma gliding behind the Great Wheel
as she comes into the landing at Pier 52,
Colman Dock.
: : :
When I pulled the image up to 300%,
I could see people in the gondolas atop the wheel taking photos.
: : :
I haven’t ridden yet,
I admit,
I have an extreme fear of heights,
but in the past I have ventured into places
that scared me half to death
just to get an image I really wanted,
so perhaps one day I will.
Perhaps.

We recently got one of those in Atlanta…but yours is much more impressive. :)
Merry Christmas, Madge!
What a fantastic shot, and I like that ship behind it too.
Merry Christmas, Madge!
An amazing wheel. I wonder if most natives like this on the waterfront or not. Fine shot of it and the ferry. I’d have to “think” about riding it or not! :-)
It’s a wonderful photograph. I haven’t ridden on a Ferris wheel in some time, but I used to enjoy it. Not sure about this one, though. So tall!
Beautiful photo Madge, wow!
I like this shot of the wheel You could get some wonderful shots from the top, but, like you, I am afraid of heights.
A Beautiful shot and lovely lovey place. I have been on one and loved it. Really loved it.
There must be some wonderful views at the top.
Lovely shot, Madge! Happy Holidays!!! :)
That is one huge Ferris wheel. Way too high for me!!
WOW! Must feel pretty high up when you’re looking out over the sea atop this!
Hello Madge, good afternoon (◠‿◠)
Wow, ist a great shot!!!
Thanks 4 hosting this project.
I wish you a wonderful and happy Fourth Advent weekend, merry Christmas, Wieczora (◔‿◔)
That’s a very big wheel, Madge! My photo from Fremantle features a slightly smaller one! :-)
Merry Christmas, Madge! :-)
I love ferris wheels. Great shot.
Very, very cool shot, Madge. I don’t mind riding ferris wheels, but I understand your reluctance. I feel that way about rollercoasters. Have a great weekend and a wonderful Christmas. Hugs. — Nancy
That is a great shot with the ferry in the background. I although I do not have an extreme fear of heights, I have a very hard time with Ferris Wheels when they stop to unload.
Have a good holiday.
Lovely shot, Madge! I’m linking up very late (for some reason, I’ve been thinking the meme started on a Sunday.
The Wheel in Seattle is identical to the one in our city of Brisbane, although ours is a bit smaller!
Madge, I am right there with you on the height thing but it looks like it would pretty awesome for the view! Spectacular shot :)
What a great shot! I’m having such a hard time imaging a world where it isn’t frigid and snow-covered.
