Boo… Trick or Treat! I’m not much into goulishness, horror movies or the like, so I’ve posted some rather happy looking inflatable yard displayed jack’o’lanterns instead. But I think Halloween is a lot of fun for kids (and some big ones too) going ‘trick or treating’ for candy or going to harvest parties at church or other private parties. I grew up in the 1950s and early 60s, most of the time we attended a carnival at school with a cake walk, and booths for activities like a dart toss, ring toss and apple bobbing. One year when I was about ten, my mom helped my sister and I dress up as hobos, she put cold cream on our faces and pushed coffee grounds into it to make ‘beards’ on our faces! We had such a good time trying to fool the neighbors (I’m sure they knew who we were!) and we gathered enough candy in the process to make a kid sick for a week! Happy Halloween everyone… have fun, stay safe!
Cute photo! I like the happy decor too!
Thanks Deb… Happy Halloween!

Thanks Leif, I just visited you! I’ll be waiting to see your entry in the ‘Weekly Top Shot!’ ;-)
This is my kind of Halloween photo :)
What a jolly Halloween photo! Love this, Madge. Happy Halloween to you! :)
i was in first grade in 1950 and we did the same thing, carnival at school and cake walk. there were no horror flicks back then like now. i don’t do the horror shows. i always dressed as a princess or a witch or an American Indian. we did the trick or treat without parents, but with a group and there were 2 houses that gave out big candy bars, they were our first stop. everyone else gave out single pieces. we always got so much.
These will make you smile!!
