Earlier today,
I took my Fuji XT2 and my Corgi mix dog Lucy,
and went for a drive around
east Lewis County.

Since we moved about a hundred miles southeast from Seattle just over a year ago,
I haven’t hardly taken my camera out and shot any images at all.
To be honest, I am not really sure why,
I guess one could call it a hiatus.
I even gave serious consideration to letting my photoblog slip into oblivion,
even though this is my eleventh year of publishing this varied account of places and things.
In the end, when renewal of my account rolled around in July,
I could not let it go.
Too many memories, too many images of so many places I have photographed
because they caught my eye,
my heart,
my imagination,
and most of all,
my spirit.

Today,
the first day of fall 2018,
was a filled with passing squalls so heavy
my windshield wipers couldn’t clear the pouring rain adequately.
Around the next bend a few miles,
it was sunny and bright with colors that popped
from the freshness that rain washes
each new view.

This old barn door on Birley Road
near the small town of Mossyrock caught my eye,
the richness of the colors, the textures
and the sense of history
it displayed.

Blessings Always,
So nice to see a little of your part of the world once again. I hope this is not just a one-off as I really like your photography.
Rustic definitely fits this! I enjoy seeing your photography…thanks for sharing again!
Welcome back! Beautifully expressed.
I need to get back to blogging too…it really does give a sense of purpose in a crazy world.
I miss living in Washington.
Oh, it is good to see a post from you again.A break can be refreshing,so I trust it has done that for you.Keep on shooting and sharing those photos.
Glad that I decided to do some checking on the contents of my blog roll! Also glad to see that you decided to get your camera out again! I’m struggling with my card making AND my photography. I just don’t feel that I can produce anything that I like. (Rain is something we need so badly….we got 1/4 an inch a few days ago. That’s it! Nothing in the forecast, either. Keep on shooting, Madge!
My blog has almost slipped into oblivion too. But I decided to resurrect it and keep going.
Beautiful photography. Thanks for sharing.
