Testing the new 100-400mm zoom lens from Fuji last evening,
from Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill overlooking
downtown Seattle and the Space Needle.
: : :
I’ll be sharing some wider shots,
which include the Space Needle and more of downtown,
but this building looked fiery in the setting sun
with a long dark reflection of the Space Needle cast down along its right side.
: : :
I was curious if this lens would perform better
than the next longest lens I’ve used (when I still owned all my Pentax gear, a 100-300mm Pentax lens),
and indeed this lens does perform much better than that.
I’m looking forward to seeing what else it will do,
although it will mostly require the use of my tripod or monopod to get sharp shots.
Last night I discovered that the light weight Manfrotto tripod
I bought used last summer is too light for this lens if there is any wind.
Thankfully I hadn’t yet sold my heavy duty Manfrotto tripod
that you could probably rest a volkswagon bug
on and it wouldn’t give, kidding.

~Blessings Always~
beautiful gleaming building and vivid blue sky.
thank you for your kind comment today, madge.
Hi Madge, I visited you awhile back wondering where you went or where I had been. LOL
You must have answered back mistaking me for Joann—and that is ok.

That is a wonderful reflection and so colourful. I like the flag on the top of the building.
A fabulous reflection shot Madge! I loved Seattle when I visited in May last year and I had read about Kerry Park on Facebook so I took some night shots from there too! :)
Wow – great timing and great shot.
This is a beautiful picture and making me have fond memories of my fun trip to Seattle a few years ago. Looks like the new lens is working out nicely.
