Here recently,
while driving down West Valley Highway,
between Auburn and Kent,
my eye was caught by several fields of produce
grown by Carpinito Brothers Farms.
: : :
Both the red and green cabbages
were fully matured and
harvest ready.
The color variation and the
bluish-purple haze of the leaves and head
was so pleasing to my eye.

Across the street
was at one time Smith Brothers Dairy,
in operation since 1928 (if I remember correctly)
and my sister and I went to school with the some of the Smith sisters,
a nice family and a wonderful family farm.
It has now moved operations a few miles away,
but still in the Kent area.
Carpinito’s has taken over
their former dairy land for produce production,
and I’ll bet the veggies grow like crazy
in that fertile soil of the former pastures
where the cows grazed.

I think that is awesome you remember all of that and you can see lovely cabbage growing in your travels.
Lovely photos.
Great shot – I love the textures. I’m always fascinated by the fields of vegetables.
It would have caught my eyes too.. Very nice!
