on a summer day trip to Mount Saint Helens,
I’ve caught some brightly colored magenta ‘Fireweed.’
Back-lit by the strong, hot sunshine,
it appears to glow from
within.

I’m not sure
if this is the variety of flower
that bees frequent to produce ‘Fireweed Honey,’
but it is pretty regardless of
its sweetness!

It is a beautiful thing. I am always amazed at how fast the land rejuvenates after a fire. Amazed – and thankful.
