Slough? Well, perhaps not.
: : :
I’m not really sure
‘slough’ is the correct term
for a stream when it gets close enough
to salt water that the tides ebb
and flow in it.
It just dawned on me
that estuary is the term where
at the mouth of a river the tide meets the current of the stream,
so perhaps that is the correct term.

Regardless,
it was a pretty scene,
looking northwest across the fields
to Padilla Bay near the Skagit County
town of Anacortes.

Estuary?
A very, very pretty scene. And its serenity is calming too.
That’s a neat shot Madge. Have a great weekend!
What a lovely view.
Regardless of what it s called, Madge, it was well worth the time…beautiful scene!…:)JP
I like the layers of depth, leading the eye into the photo in steps. Also the colors and the weather are fabulous. Perfection in a landscape scene.
Neat shot, Madge. I really like the old barn framed by the tree. The colors are calming.
I like it too. Here we’d call it an estuary.
