Sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset, aren’t we thankful for the faithfulness of our days and seasons?
: : :
Here,
a colorful sky heralds another new day,
and this one a crisp winter sunrise over the Cascade Mountains in central Puget Sound.
: : :
Most of us
pay the least attention to the beginnings and endings of days,
except that once in a while we realize that we’ve gathered many more of then
than we realized
and
wonder where the time went.
: : :
I do try with diligence,
to pay attention to the openings and closings of days,
and
to live each as fully as possible,
do you?

Yes, so simply put and beautifully illustrated.
Madge,
It is important to step back and watch the sun rise or set. The beauty of the clouds can be amazing. I get lots of chances to watch the sun come up during morning chores.
Everyday is a gift!
Gorgeous color…especially for this time of year!
P.S. We’ll be pulling for the Seahawks this Sunday! :)
Beautiful blazing orange! All I can say for sure is that as I get older I notice the small and/or everyday things more often and sunrise and sunset is among those things.
I rarely see a sunset here because of the woods. This is deeply colorful.
What a beautiful sunrise! I am more likely to notice the sunrises because I am usually busy fixing supper at sunset! :)
What an amazing orange sky! Love this shot.
Indeed we are grateful for nature’s seasons but fearful for the havoc climate change is a-wreaking to us all
Beautiful shot!
Beautiful skies, Madge – it is important to pay attention to these beginnings and endings of days. They seem to ask us questions – ‘What will you do with this day?’ – ‘What did you do with this day now gone?’ xo Karen
Quite the colorful shot ~ Wow ~

Something peaceful about an orange sunset.
Gorgeous image Madge, I agree it’s important and magical. I often catch both and am grateful I do. Happy weekending.
Madge, I believe you are right about most not paying attention but, I think those of us with cameras look more closely at the beginning and end of the day. I, for one, am often looking at the light and thinking how or what I would be photographing…all this while on my way into or from the office…booooooooo. And, as I watch my mother slowly fade, I am much more aware of those precious beginnings and endings and all the minutes in between. Hugs to you! I know you are loving every minute of the beautiful light…be in in sun, moon, rain, or fog.
Orange today, foggy blue-green (teal?) yesterday. I predict yellow tomorrow.
Yes, living each day to it’s fullest…always…:)JP
