Seattle e-Bike, a business in historic Pioneer Square.
: : :
What is an e-Bike you ask?
They are electrically assisted bicycles.
Designed to glide the rider along at 15-20 mph and conquer the hills of Seattle without sweat!
Still legally considered a bicycle not a motor vehicle,
they follow the guidelines and laws for bicycles.
: : :
They are a bit pricey,
starting at about $1000 and going up from there,
but you can rent one as well.
: : :
Here, early one morning before dawn,
I’ve caught their neon sign gently illuminating the red brick facade
of the more than century old building in historic Pioneer Square they have space in.

I’ve never really been a bicycle rider.
When we were kids we rode horses everywhere.
There wasn’t any safe place to ride a bike.
I bought a fancy Trek bicycle a few years ago thinking I would finally learn to ride.
But I am terrified on it and feel out of control.
It’s for sale now.

My week is consumed with doctor and other medical appointments.
I see my orthopedic today.
I am hopeful that he will allow less restrictions and allow me to go to ‘work conditioning’ physical therapy
so I can be ready to pass my ‘physical skills test’ in mid-August.

Also,
I apologize to everyone for not getting around to visit after WTS this week,
my husband and I are doing some remodeling of our main bathroom and
having new flooring laid in our kitchen and both bathrooms.
While all this creates mess and a lot of work,
I’m so excited to have a pristine new bathroom and new floors!

Sorry Nancy,
but I ran out of time to apply a texture to this image…
but if you all would like to see what other photogs are doing
with their post-processing of images visit Nancy’s ‘Tuesday Muse‘ to check some out!
Hope to see you all tomorrow for
‘Rurality Blog Hop.’

My Mom was afraid of height… could’t ride a bike. REALLY!
I love your nighttime photos. They’re so good.
I used to ride a bike a lot, for exercise. Haven’t done that in years. I wonder if it’s true, you never forget how. Wonder if this old body could handle it.
Good luck with your orthopedic.
Lovely neon!!
I bought a bicycle when I lived in the city but was too afraid to ride it because of all the traffic. ;)
How fun to get new flooring put down!
Oh I am so glad you had an explanation of what an E-Bike is. Cool looking sign even without texture!
When I see your FB posts, I always think that you must be feeling better….finally! I do love your most-interesting captures of Seattle scenes, as well as other Washington locales!
Another great neon light shot, Madge. You always seem to get these neon signs just right in your photos.
Love that neon sign and the light falling on the building.
Oh a motorized bike…maybe I’ll take up bike riding again. Did in my younger days, not so much now. How fun for new floors and re-modeling….not so fun while it’s happening, but it sure is nice when it’s complete!! Hope you are feeling right strong these days.
Beautiful sign.
Firstly, no need to apologize for not texturing…. stop that! Love seeing your images any way I can.
I want to get an old touring bike for the farm so I can relive Katherine Ross’s ride in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Lol.
Big hugs my friend. xo
i have been so busy … not always having enough time to leave comments but i do think that yesterday’s shot and today’s neon must be ackowledged! fabulous both .. hoping you are well
I like you early morning shot of the e-bike sign. I haven’t heard of these until now. I suppose it takes more people and sidewalk business to make this a success.
E-Bike…this is the first I’ve heard of this. I bought a bike several years ago and though about selling BUT I’ve used it occasionally and down the shore so I’m holding onto it. It wasn’t $1000 but I wouldn’t want to spend the money to buy another if I really missed it. Success with the remodel. I’m still kicking around ideas for the kitchen….actually I’m afraid to get started because I know I’ll go into sticker shock. Ugh!
Ooh, and the neon sign is in two of my favorite colors! Great shot as always…. xox
