Rocks come in all manner of colors, sizes and shapes.

Here on the KVI Beach
(named after the tv station tower erected there) on Vashon Island,
I walked and shot images of beach rocks.

I don’t know about you but I have picked up rocks for years,
not necessarily special, just pretty to me.
For a while it was only white rocks, then heart shaped rocks, then red rocks, well you get the picture.

Today is ‘Tuesday Muse’ over at my friend Nancy’s place at ‘A Rural Journal.’
I’m overlaying my original image with the texture she offered today called ‘nc_Toulouse.’

My husband and I are getting out of the house for a day trip on the peninsula to Shelton.
We’re going for lunch and a beer at
a micro-brewery called the Grove Street Brewhouse.

Have a fun outing!
i’m a rock-picker-upper, too. used to joke that if you gave me a bucket of pea gravel, i’d be like a kid in a sandbox – busy for hours. :)
Texture is nice, but I love the vibrant colors of the rocks in your header. Who doesn’t love a pretty rock or two? :)
such vibrant beauties! are these the natural colors of the rocks? I’ve been known to pick up rocks too, especially while walking on a beach or on a trail. I’m attracted to shapes, textures, colors and feel of rocks.
Those rocks are such beautiful colors – of course you have to pick them up. The rocks at my neighborhood beach are nowhere near as pretty.
I’m very much a life-long rock picker-upper. These are gorgeous!
My mom used to say it took me so long coming up the driveway after school because I always took two steps forward and one step back for a rock.
She was a good sport to keep my buckets of them over my growing years.. I still collect a pocketful anywhere we travel to! Beaches are the best.
Isnt it amazing how something so simple can be so beautiful?!?!
I enjoy picking up rocks too.
cool looking rocks!
There are some treasures in there.
I love to look at rocks as well. Nice shot.
Wonderful images!
I’ve never seen such beautiful beach rocks and wished I could pick up some of them. Stunning photography and great use of texture.
I have never seen such lovely rocks before. Are you “back”, Madge? I’ve missed you…
The red rock just pops. I wish we had more rocks here — I love them. Thanks for joining in Madge and I hope you enjoyed your outing. xo
My husband loves to pick up rocks from places we visit. He would love these. I do too. They are beautiful.
I’m generally not a big fan of rocky beaches – but if the rocks look this beautiful – count me in.
Great pictures. I love rocks, and my son had quite the “collection” of rocks and other finds when he was little.
