Seattle’s Pike Place Market features a bizarre feature, Bubble Gum Alley.
: : :
Here, a long, lone, glum looking gum face
is stuck on the red brick wall, next to the millions of pieces of gum stuck every where
along this section of historic Post Alley.
: : :
Bubble Gum Alley, cracks me up, that people will contribute to this odd, smelly ‘artistic’ display.
If you visit, be sure to do so in cool weather.
Warm weather really brings out the aroma of the place.
You may smile at the oddity of the place,
you may frown at the absurdity or grossness or
you may simply hold your breath
and then
run!

It’s ‘Random 5 Friday‘ over and my good friend Nancy’s place ‘A Rural Journal,’
so I’m sharing these odd bits about me today:
(1) I don’t like ironing, I buy my clothes accordingly. If it requires ironing, it doesn’t hang in my closet!
(2) I LOVE fingernail polish! I do my own mani and pedicures using my own shellac polish and uv light. It lasts two weeks!
(3) I collect ceramic pigs! I found my first one in the century old trash that had been dumped on the property where my parent’s built our home in 1950.
(4) I love glass, especially colored glass, which also came from picking that old pile of trash for old bottles.
‘(5) I don’t like lip gloss, it’s too sticky and when the wind blows my hair gets stuck in it! Yuk!
There is it five random,
odd bits about me today…
things you just had to know,
right??
Right.

Now that is a strange wall indeed. I guess you call it art…I dont know!!!
the bubble gum face was funny, as were some of your randoms. :)
Pike Place Market is a wild and crazy place and Bubble Gum Alley proves it! :D :D Enjoyed your random 5 and I’ll join you on NO ironing. YeeHaw! Happy Spring!
I can’t even begin to imagine who thought that bubble gum wall was a good idea! Have a wonderful Easter Madge!
Well, I suppose it’s one way of making it look less unsightly! What a strange place! Have a wonderful Easter. Chel x
Bubble gum alley….. Hmmm part of me thinks it’s funny, part of me thinks eeeewwwww! I like lip gloss (short hair), but never wear nail polish (too much work), but I’m right there with you on the ironing and colored glass thing. Have a nice weekend, Madge!
What a yucky wall but I bet you do see some interesting gum things on there.
I loved your 5 random things!
I enjoyed your random five. When I was young, we tore down some old houses, and I still have some of the treasures I found in them. I do think I could do without the visit to bubble gum alley.
Now this wall just about takes the cake…never heard of such a thing…but I’d LOVE to see it. :)
See ya for Top Shot later. :)
Enjoyed your random 5! I go through spells of wearing fingernail polish, but usually I don’t. I just don’t do a very good job with it!
The bubble gum art is interesting–I bet it is smelly!
Fun but gross at the same time.
YUK! All I can think of are all the germs!!!! Ceramic pigs and colored glass…now those I can get into!
Very strange but I admit it made me laugh! :)
I remember your previous post about this “art” feature. I have to admit, it kinda grosses me out. Lol!
Thanks for sharing more 5 facts about yourself Madge — I like that you collect those little piggies. :)
I think I’ll stay away from Bubble Gum Alley. Looks too gross for me. I’m right there with you on the ironing though. Love colored glass and bottles.
