Ouch.
Ouch.
Ouch.

Here, in Seattle’s Chinatown,
I’ve caught Tiger Tiger Tattoo
in the early morning light,
while the red paper lanterns
and umbrellas still glow out of the darkened shop,
like fireflies on a hot summer night.

I don’t know what your beliefs or feelings are about tattoos.
Personally, I don’t have any.
I’m too much of a wuss
and a bit too squeamish for the process.
Both of my 20 something children have them,
and lots of them, I might add.
My daughter in particular tries in vain
on the odd occasion,
to talk me into getting one done.
But I can’t think of anything
I like that well that I want it displayed permanently on my body.
Then there is the ‘what if they flub it up,’
it’s not like there are do-overs.
And regardless of my first objections,
there is still…
Ouch.
Ouch.
Ouch.

What do you think about the whole issue?
Do you have one (some)?

very pretty shot.
C o o l capture!
I have never come across this shop in Chinatown..last time i was there was september last year.
Tattoos are cool! at the end of our path we all leave our ‘coats’ behind so for me personally it is not a big of a deal :)
Hi!
Lovely capture
Have a nice evening

I don’t care what anyone else does to/with their body – but some of the tattoos are are just plain ugly. But more importantly, what will they look like in 40 years – oh my. When I was a health care giver long long ago I encountered a man with a tattoo – well – you know – down there – and I have to say – rather than being impressive, it was comical and sad – but mostly comical – I could barely contain my laughter, and I’m sure that was not the effect he was going for.
As for me ouch, ouch, ouch – I agree and nothing I want to permanently display either – but mostly ouch!
You find such interesting things to shoot. Then, you take such wonderful photos of them.
It’s inspiring.
Oh, I am with you on the tattoo pain. My children and my grandchildren all have tattoos but fortunately not all over their body like some I have seen. I keep wondering if they will still think it’s cool when they are in the 60’s or 70’s. Love all those red paper lanterns…now those are cool.
I love your photography! I’m without tattos, probably because I can’t think of what to get :) Michelle
Nice shot.
I have a tattoo, never every thought I would say that. But I do. I have a sprig of cilantro on the inside of my right wrist. I got it at 57, it is fun. I keep thinking about getting another one. I love all the red in this capture and I always love all your info!
Beautiful shot, although the shop looks inviting I will not enter. I don’t have a tattoo, old fashioned. But my youngest son has them on his arm… but no piercings ;)
Pretty shot. No tattoos for me.
what a welcoming facade .. love those red lanterns
Your photos are always so stunning. Love these!
This photo captured my eye ~ fantastic! Nope, no tattoos on this gal’s body. I’ve never been tempted to sit there and have someone inject ink into my body with needles. Plus, I’ve seen too many “bad paid for tattoos” shown on the Ellen Show! LOL!!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend Madge!
