Sheltered from the winter chill and snow, a tractor sits in an equipment shed in the Palouse.
One must envy this tractor in it’s stall,
sheltered from the elements,
in an old barn.

It is cold here in Seattle,
below freezing with freezing fog in the mornings,
but with the bonus of bright cold sunshine in the afternoons.
Even wearing layers, including a down vest,
I’m usually chilled to the bone by quitting time at 16:30.
Opening and closing a door several feet away constantly,
and having it sit open for seven minutes at each of eleven schools while loading students,
makes for a lot of cold air!
Even with the heaters blasting on high,
the cold air overcomes it all,
chilling the front inside area of the bus,
chilling everything that is there,
including one thoroughly chilled driver … moi!

Great photo, Madge. Stay warm!!
Wonderful shot!
Couldn’t help notice the ladder to get up to the second ‘floor’. I was always leery of getting up higher. Gotta hope for lots of hay underneath. :)
When I was reading about you keeping the door open it reminded me of my school bus driver. I remember he always wore a little newsboy type cap winter and summer and when it was really cold he’d open the door and let you on and then shake his shoulders and rub his together. I don’t remember him wearing gloves much. It must have liked the feel of the steering wheel.
Love it looks so peaceful sitting there out of the elements.
Wonderful old tractor.
I like the bright orange tractor!
Stay warm.

What a great photo. I always love seeing what’s inside barns!
keeping warm and dry til spring .. only 27 days away
Love this…great colors, great comp! Chilled to the bone here to sitting at a desk. Finally pulled the space heater out of the closet. So wish that darn landlord would send up some heat!
Love the shot of the old tractor! :)
I can just imagine how cold you are by the end of the day, BRRRR…
It’s so nice to see a tractor sheltered and not rusting out in the fields! I like the round headlights, they sort of look like eyes on a grasshopper! This cold is bone chilling – can’t wait for a 45 degree day again! xx
That’s a terrific shot of that old tractor. And I like your photo of the one room school house back a few posts ago. Those are getting fewer and farther between to be able to see them. They slowly fall down from neglect. Great capture!

Ohhh that’s a really great shot, Madge, love the barn & the tractor! Thank you so much for joining! =)
I’d never thought of it that way, but a killing of an entire generation is right… horrible
Great shot!
Oh my… how I love this old tractor. The farmer surely has it equipped for every need. Beautiful photo!
