Exercise (noun): /ˈɛk sərˌsaɪz/: is physical activity that is planned, structured, and repetitive for the purpose of conditioning any part of the body.

Here caught in the very early morning,

the first rays of the chilly winter sun shine hazily

through low lying ground fog

in the Green River Valley near Kent, WA.

Creating a weak silhouette of a groom riding one

and exercising another horse on a lead

around a race-track style half mile track.

Heritage Farm Training Center ‘provides a safe and

friendly facility where professional trainers can help their

horses and students reach their potential and achieve their goals.’

Moi?

You ask if I do?

Formal exercise,

like weight training, running, etc.

nah,

I did for a couple years a few years back,

but it was a bit too much like

punishment to me.

  1. Wonderful shot – it really give the feeling of the chilly early mornings around here.

    Exercise – lift that laundry basket, swish that mop, make that bed, bend and stretch to clean that bathtub – yes, I think I pretty much get my morning exercise. And like you – toting about cameras (I have three) and tripod and bag – oh yeah. I’ve had a membership at a gym and liked that – will probably go back to it once I’m through the healing process of this back surgery.

    Morning exercise? Lifting a coffee cup works for me. But I do try to get in a walk later in the day. A bum knee is making it harder, but I’m making a comeback. . .

  5. Formal exercise…hate it! I walk with a friend…once in a while but not enough. Found some walking DVDs left with a family members possessions I’ve been storing and have been doing ‘3 fast miles’ about twice a week…still hate it. I guess I feel I need to do something after sitting at a desk from 8 to 5 everyday. However, if my blood pressure numbers, cholesterol numbers, and weight have not improved the next time I see the dr., the DVDs and walking shoes are going in the garbage. And I have a gym right in my office building….don’t go…like I said, hate formal exercise. Ugh! BTW, excellent photo!

  7. Love your shot and treatment! My exercise is the same as you, lugging my camera gear + tripod around. I do need to get some other exercise in because I think I would feel better, but I haven’t committed yet. Too many pictures to take! Thank you for hosting WTS!
