Bzzzz or oink? Or perhaps bzzink?
Here, grazing lazily in a front yard garden,
‘Bumble Pig’ finds a permanent home.
During 2001 and again during 2007
(the centennial of the Pike Place Market)
the foundation had hundreds of fiberglass replicas of ‘Rachel the Pig’
(the Pike Place Market’s iconic brass life size piggy bank)
fashioned by local artists.
After the fundraisers were over
the decorated pigs were auctioned off,
a total of 270 pigs.
I occasionally see one here and there around town,
and here of course was one,
full of whimsy!

Haha! ;) I’ve seen zoo animals, turkeys, butterflies, and Elvis guitars, but never flying pigs. Love it!
how cute!
too funny …New Orleans did a fish parade, Cincinnati did a pig parade .. here in NYC we did a Cow Parade ..
Interesting symbol for Pike Place Market – I think fish when I think of it (but what do I know). Fun piece of art, cool details on the wings.
really cool pig
This actually evoked a chuckle from me. Twice!
Really original, cute.
How whimsical! I love him. I was in Seattle last summer for a short stop over and I saw the cute sculpture at the Pike Market and his foot stamps :-)
Love the pig – you find the best things to take pictures of.
really cute. :)
Now that’s just cute as can be. I want one!
Good one!
… When pigs fly … Bzzoink!
That is too cute.
West Hartford did the same thing several times, with cows. In fact, the promoters of this kind of thing — Cow Parade — are headquartered in West Hartford.
Makes me laugh! Bumble pig…ha ha ha! xx
That’s fun! It reminds me of the cows that were featured all over New York City several years ago. Gee, when I first read the title, I thought I’d be seeing a photo of a lot of bikers…LOL
Love Bumble Pig! :)
They did Painted Ponies around here.
I wonder how much one has to pay for these pigs? Omaha did people like this a few years ago and I think Chicago did cows/cattle. Awesome~!
Cute!!!
So cute! I’ll have to send a link to me daughter; she has a pet pig.
