‘…Christmas in the Northwest is a gift God wrapped in green.’Christmas in the Northwest, always a gift of God, and again this year it will be wrapped in green here at our home near Puget Sound. To satisfy our craving for snow, my husband and I drove to the summit of Snoqualmie Pass today, to play with Lucy our dog in the snow and allow me a few minutes to take a few photos. The cold, elevation and my asthma made walking a chore, but it was gorgeous! I took an ornament with me, just in case I found the perfect spot for a wintry scene. Thankfully, we found just the place with the sun peeping through the clouds for a few minutes to provide the brightly lit hills behind the snowy alpine trees.
‘Christmas in the Northwest,’ by Brenda White is a favorite Christmas song of mine. If you have time, click the ‘play’ button on the player and listen to a beautiful song for a couple minutes, I think you’ll be blessed. [Disclosure: The MP3 shared with you was purchased.]
Hoping you and yours have a wonderful day together to celebrate the meaning of Christmas ~ faith, family and friends.
I thought it might be fun to open a two day only Christmas meme, if you have the time and would like to share, I’d enjoy seeing your seasonal cheer!

Lovely idea, thanks for hosting
Cool idea for a meme, I’m in! I like your idea of carrying an ornament too! Now if we would only get some snow … (we got a coating Christmas eve).
Oh Madge! Cold air is tough for asthma! What a beautiful photo, though. I’m sure you know that Snoqualmie was not so peaceful today; two great-nieces were driving back from Tacoma to NE Oregon and got through just before the pass was closed to all vehicles without chains. I hope you are getting healthier!
Merry Christmas, Madge! Best wishes for health and happiness in 2013!
Warm regards from EAGAN daily photo
Beautiful shot! We where blessed with a white Christmas. It was a very nice surprise.
Merry Christmas!
You are making me feel quit a slacker for not carrying props with me on my strolls around town. But, you did get a fine seasonal photo. Happy holidays!
Oh, my, Madge. Your post is poignant beyond measure. Thank you for your efforts. Be sure to tell your husband thanks, too.
What a great idea, Madge! Beautiful photo! We had a bit of snow here, too, just in time for a white Christmas. Happy Holidays! :)
A beautiful scene of snow and conifers with your christmas ornament. Loved the recording. Very nice.
Thank you for your Christmas wishes. Your photo is spectacular. You should be designing Christmas cards. No kidding.
Merry Christmas to you, Madge! Thanks for stopping by. This is a gorgeous sight…don’t see this in Florida.
«Louis» thanks you for your visit to San Francisco Bay Daily Photo and he wishes you all the best this holiday and for the new year!
Oh this is such a creative shot! I love it!
OH my you did find the perfect spot! Such a beautiful image! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
Wow, are you clever!…bringing that ornament with you. That is something I would have totally forgot let alone thought of. I would have been consumed with thinking of what camera equpment to take. When the tree comes down this year, I will keep one ornament (maybe a few more…LOL) out just to be prepared when it does snow. What a beautiful shot and beautiful song! Thank you!
Merry Christmas! I linked up my Star Wreath. I enjoyed most of the other posts, but sad that some felt the need to monopolize with 5 or more links to their blog instead of just one :0(
Gorgeous scene- hope it was a very Merry Christmas!!!
It is so much like the Northeast, but with MORE snow.
this was cool. Thanks for posting it. :)
I love your photo. Beautifully thought out and captured!
