Dairy farms are not usually frills and flowers. Here along the West Snoqualmie Valley Road, a classic red dairy barn’s milk room has been decorated with a flowery valance in the window and a red geranium beneath outside. The farm wife here obviously enjoys her freedom to make the place pretty and I, for one, enjoyed the feminine touch.

Oh I love that I see a lot of feminine touch Dairy barns around here and I love that.
That is an amazing colour red I bet the barn is nice.
Great photo Madge. B
love this … tho its funny you put your copyright on top of the geraniums!
Well, I thought about that as I was doing it, but creature of habit, I embedded it right there anyway… lol! :-)
Curtains! Not used to seeing those. :)
A colour-coordinated barn! Well seen.

Gotta love those hard working Farm Gals, adding a feminine touch to their busy lives. Red Geraniums were my Grandmother’s favorites, too. xx
Very pretty! I love that red color. It just pops!
Good think you can still see over all that red.
love the color & the pop of the germanium. (:
That is a bright red. It took me awhile to find the geranium, though!
Beautiful! This really does have a great feminine touch.
Great red barn. Maybe next year she can find some white flowers? I know. Picky, picky.
Gives a whole new meaning to “milk parlor.” enJOYed the beautiful shot.
What a beautiful shade of red! Love the geraniums!
New fan here! I just found you through Homestead Revival. I love this post and hope you will come share at my Farm Girl Blog Fest: http://fresh-eggs-daily.blogspot.com/2012/10/farm-girl-blog-fest-4.html
I’m lovin the feminine touch here!
You described the red color of this barn exactly–geranium. I suppose if you have to spend the amount of time that’s required in the milk parlor, may as well make it homey! We’re on the same track this week. My “charmer” features window boxes.
Great shot of this “girlified” milking barn! :)
I actually put curtains up in my little goat milking shed, mostly to keep the sun out.
Very homey and just the right woman’s touch I’d say!
I love the red and the wood siding on the lower half! It looks like shingles.
Hey, this is so cute!
