Colorful for a reason, fishing buoys are meant to be seen in all weather conditions. Here on the stern of commercial fishing vessel, the F/V Zealot is a pleasing line of fluorescent yellow buoys. Owned by Misty Fjord Seafoods in Ketchikan, Alaska, she is 57 feet long, steel hulled, built in 1992 and can carry a payload of 71 tons. I always enjoy the bright pops of color on these working boats.
I am still working on painting the exterior of our house and am now a little more than half finished, but I believe the hardest part is now done. Work is looming on the horizon. In-Service is just ten days away, then bidding routes and buses the next day and school starts on August 30. Please forgive me for my lack of getting around to visiting you all as I would like but I must get this painting done!

Love that new tennis ball color. :) Happy weekend, Madge!
Colorful and useful. Great shot. :)
Buoys are actually one of my favorite things to photograph…I don’t know why but I love them…in and out of the water ;)
Can’t say I’ve seen any in that colour up here, but as you say, meant to be seen. Great name for a fishboat too!
Excellent. Color, texture, shapes, sky – all wonderful.
Great shot :) thanks for hosting :)
Love the color on the buoys.
And, I gotta ask…how do you know so much background/history about
the things you photograph???
Hope you do get the painting finished with time to spare!
For the boats, I utilize a link to the US Coast Guard vessel registry, which gives some basic info about the boats. Other stuff, I have either personal knowledge or I research on line or at the library… I love knowing about places and things… just my curiosity working OT…
Those are interesting buoys and fun to see.
great photo… love those colors!
I love how you can take everyday scenes and make them interesting and beautiful! :)
I agree, the pop of color is lovely. Thank you for sharing and for hosting this link up! Good luck with the painting and with school starting. I start back on the 30th too!
Beautiful composition with excellent colors and shapes
Such a simple shot that shouts happy seaside times. Lovely x
Nice! The color pops.
Now it’s the exterior of the house? Good grief! So much for a summer of kicking back! You’re going to have some serious bragging rights.
Nice shot, Madge. Hope the painting is not tiring you out too much…
Thanks for hosting.
You sure can’t miss those.
Love to watch the fishing boats come in and go out of the inlets off the Jersey coast. Great colorful shot! Oh Madge, by the way, I would love that coffee! LOL
You have such a good eye for color and shapes, Madge! (I hope you are surviving your painting experience!)
Nice shot! I hope your work will be finished successfully.
Thanks
