Square and red, what more could you want? Sitting at the base of Kamiak Butte in Whitman County, this red barn is unusual, it is square. It is one of the few barns I’ve ever seen in this shape, generally barns are rectangular. I like it for it’s uniqueness, sitting in a wheat field against the deep green of the pines on the butte behind it.
Well, today is not exactly work, school doesn’t start until Thursday the 30th. Today I pick up teachers at one of our high schools and take them to a large hotel at SeaTac International Airport for their in-service, then go back this afternoon for the return trip. Not hard at all, and I can guarantee LOTS of cups of coffee on board for the drop off this morning! I’m having my cup now, but I’d better shake a leg, time to get ready for work.

so dang cute! :)
What a sweet little barn!
my first ever square barn and i LIKE it LOTS
That is just as cute as can be and I love the color! :)
It’s adorable! For some reason it looks like it belongs on a horse farm. I hope all the old falling down barns don’t vanish in my lifetime—why are they so picturesque? Surely the farmers who own them wish they were brand new!
what a great looking barn, and surrounding by great looking scenery!!
That has got to be the coolest barn I have ever seen! Wish it were mine. :)
And such a great shade of red!
Oh that is very unique!
I love it and wish it were mine. :)
It is a lovely barn, Madge, and I enjoy the angle of the photo.
It almost looks like a miniature church!
It looks so unusual to my eyes. The red paint makes it a showstopper.
That’s a cutie.
I’ve never see one at all like this. It’s a charmer for sure!
that is one cool barn!
It’s just as cute as it can be!
Love the roof on this one! Unique all around!
That truly is an interesting shape for a barn – very compact! Great capture – the setting is gorgeous!
i love this barn! it almost looks like a little school house! have a great day!!
I wonder what they use it for, what a mystery! Looks like a beauty sitting among the pines, tho
Thank you for joining, Madge! =)
What a pretty little barn, and, as you say, very unique!
This is the first square barn I remember ever seeing. So quaint, so pretty!
We just got home from a week on Baimbridge Island with my son, but I did not have the good luck of seeing this precious barn. It is a real collector’s piece…the kind that could be dismantled, all the boards marked, and then moved and rebuilt in another location. It is precious and so unusual. What a fabulous find. genie
