Early morning shadows play across a barn sitting in a hollow.

Taken in the early spring, the trees are still bare and the wheat is just rising from the warming Palouse soil.

Work begins today,
we have our state mandated in-service for school bus drivers.
Tomorrow, I bid my route and bus.
My seniority number has risen to 28, meaning that 28 other drivers will bid before me.
I have several days work next Monday and Tuesday,
transporting teachers to a nice hotel near SeaTac International Airport
for their in-service and then school starts on Thursday, August 30.

Beautiful shot. The peacefulness of it really appeals to me. Hope you get a good route and stay safe on the roads.
Wonderful picture. I don’t quite understand.Do you have to bid for a route each year? I get to keep the same route every year, unless someone retires and I apply for that route. I guess each area is different.
such a beautiful image. good luck with the route!
Gorgeous scene, whatever the season!
(You’ll have to explain “in-service” as I don’t understand the expression.)
What a neat lay of the land picture, Madge. And a barn find too.
Good Luck with the new school year!
I didn’t realize that you had to bid your route! I hope all goes well for you, Madge!
Just love it!!! Very Americana.
Another great barn/farm for your collection. Are you glad to be going back to school and work?
Great barn and I LOVE all the different contours of the land! :)
Good luck on getting a good bus route!
Awesome looking farm. Love the look of the area.
Very pretty scene. I sure hope you get the route you want!
Great barn and a pretty scene. I didn’t realize drivers had to bid for their route.
This barn fits perfectly into it’s little land hollow. I like the pergola on the top. I hope you get a good route! Sometimes the one that nobody wants is the best one of all. Did you get your painting done? xx
What a pretty little hollow this is. It looks very peaceful. Good luck with getting a bid. Who knew that’s how it worked!
