Parked and surrounded by idle farm implements, an old Chevy pickup sits. Some farmsteads in the Palouse are neat as a pin and others filled with discarded implements, vehicles and seeming trash. Most farmsteads fall on a continuum between the two extremes. This place falls towards the trashier end, but the old Chevy pickup caught my eye, loved the rust or as Antiques Roadshow might say ‘it has the patina of age.’

Love it! I keep looking for old vehicles such as this one. Funny how all of mine seem to be red, though!
it is a beauty.
Beautiful photos with nice colors. I wish you feel better.
I like the color contrast between the turquoise and rust and the turquoise and grey clouds. Neat!
Hmmmm. . .”resting and rusting.” I thought this was about me for a split second. . .
Nice shot!
You crack me up Kay… lol!
Great shot, and I love that “patina of age”
I love rust!!
Hi, visiting you from A Rural Journal. Love your shot of this vintage truck.
I hate to admit it, but our farmstead falls somewhere in between. All of the scrap you see may come in handy someday to pay the mortgage! Great shot and thank you for sharing at Rural Thursdays this week Madge.
That’s a true story, Nancy.. hadn’t thought about it like that. Also, I would imagine disposing of no longer needed large items would take quite a bit of effort to load and haul to a scrap yard someplace, which could be hours away.
I like these kind of shots. Do you by chance process sometimes with Topaz Adjust?
No, I use Photoshop CS5. I shoot in RAW format, so when I open the image I do look at white balance, exposure, brightness and contrast. That’s usually the extent of my fiddling around with my images. I also have several plugins by NIK Software but use them sparingly. Hope this helps… ;-)
I love the colours in this shot.
Gotta love an old blue truck!
Lovely shot, Madge. Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell. I wish you a speedy recovery.
sometimes I feel I’m resting and rusting, but I don’t look as photogenic!
Somebody’s nice blue paint job has earned it’s way into today’s trendy shabby chic and chippy craze!!
I’m lovin’ your Pacific Northwest photography!!
Love that color blue against the rust…nice shot, Madge. Hope your feeling better.
Nice shot, Madge! Also like your newlyweds…
I love old trucks. If only they could talk of the places they have been! Sorry to hear that you are under the weather. xx
Too bad for the truck but it made for a nice shot.
I’m glad for the vintage rust-buckets…cause I love to take their pictures!
I found you through the hop, come over for a visit sometime. Your always Welcome, KathyB.
