No more road trips, no more moving friends or hauling hay bales and groceries. Just sitting, rusting and keeping the weeds company. This old International Harvester pickup truck caught my eye on a day trip over the Cascade Mountains to the rural community of Cle Elum in Kittitas County.
I hope you all had the kind of 4th of July celebration you were hoping for. We spent ours rather quietly this year, except that our neighborhood sounded like it was a war zone!

I like it, broken window and all! Nice find!
what a cool pic! :)
I bet that old pickup deserves a rest. :))
It might be rusting away but it still looks like a classic.
such an old classic truck. great shot. (:
One of my all time favorite shots is an old aqua truck I captured ‘in the weeds’ in Micanopy. Brings back memories of my Uncle’s farm truck.
Oh Madge I love it. There is something about weeds and rust I have always loved. I know I am different.:) B
love love love old abandoned shells of cars and pickups
Looks like that ol’ truck has seen some good years and some bad! Great shot!
Wishing you a happy Thursday.
xo Catherine
I vote for cranking her up! Great pic, Madge!
Very cool old truck- love it!
I love this photo. This poor old truck has seen better days but I bet if someone had the money they could restore it. Enjoy the weekend! Pamela
Love the muted colors in your shot. You rarely see these trucks around any more. It’s a same it’s just sitting there going to rust.
Lovely photo of this old truck! Love it’s character and I’ll bet it could tell a few stories!
Fantastically creative photo ~ thanks, ^_^ (A Creative Harbor)
It can be restored, we have the technology! I love old pickup trucks, I’d love to own one. We chilled for the 4th as well.
if only I could age and be beautiful like this truck is.
Yup, this baby is toast. But, a terrific found photo.
what a great pickup. :) texans like their fireworks, too.
I wonder how the windshield got a piece broken out like that? Inquiring minds want to know! LoL! Beautiful shot =)
What a great photo! A photo like this makes me ponder where this truck has been, what’s hauled and my but you put it all together with such eloquence. Wonderful, indeed!
I love vintage/rusted vehicle photos; this is great.
Like the straight-on shot, a Sgt. Friday “Just the facts, ma’am.” attitude.
wow. Love it. Came from Nancys. Your photos always take me away. I love them and your style.
Great capture this week!
oh wow, i love this one…that broken windshield just adds to its beauty!
Very cool find. I love beat up, rusty old cars.
What a waste, but it makes for a good picture!
What a cool vehicle- all that decay sure makes it even more interesting.
Nice find!! I love photographing and seeing photographs of old vehicles :)
What a neat truck!
Thank you for sharing at Rural Thursdays this week, Madge. xo
That old truck is just begging for someone to restore her, but what a job that would be! Richard from the Amish settlement of Lebanon,pa
i’ve been there before… well, not to that specific truck in the weeds, but to Cle Elum in Washington. I lived in Shohomish, Monroe and Everett in the late 70’s! From Utah and still in Utah. Washington State has some gorgeous photo opts for sure. I look at this truck and wonder “how the window was broken?” hmm?
Love the post processing on this shot! And I do love old trucks.
What a waste of a good truck.
Extremely cool capture….I feel like I am in the backwoods of Kentucky!
I love how it’s rusted but yet still showing so much of the blue underneath.
Love your personification of this old relic in your opening words. :)
With a little $$$$$$$ someone could bring this baby back to life. Looks pretty solid.
Great looking rusty patina colors on this truck! Made me smile.
Nice! It’s definitely caught a lot of eyes. . .
More booms, fewer flashes in this year’s fireworks.
Yup she’s definitely seen better days Madge..I say ‘she’ because of the purple coloured bumper. I bet she was real purty in her younger days. Excellent capture.
Some days I feel like this old truck, Madge!
