One of busiest ports in the United States, Tacoma ranks tenth among the top thirty ports. Yesterday while driving home from my doctor’s appointment, I stopped in a blocked off curb lane on an old bridge spanning the Puyallup River in the heart of the Port of Tacoma. To the south I shot an image of a terminal staging ground that was covered with new John Deere combines and then to the north this image of the Sealand/Maersk Terminal and their yard. I cropped the view to isolate the chassis waiting to receive a container. I rather liked the repetitive shapes and colors.

amazing!!! love it
that’s a neat shot. :)
Great choice! Love the color.
Very nice Madge, something we don’t see every day.
I like this and love that blue color!!
I love the blue – like an ocean of truck ladders :-)
They look like ladders at first glance. A rather unusual scene but very interesting. I could imagine there would be much activity to watch too.
This is an excellent shot…the graphics, the composition, the color…I think everything just works perfectly! Congrats on this capture.
The volume is quite mind boggling! Great capture, Madge!
I like the mixture of the repetitive patterns with the occasional random offset/angle. Very cool colors too!
Just waiting for that next load.
Of all the things I’d pick to really look cool/good/interesting in a photo, I doubt that the underbelly of a transport truck, much less dozens of them, would make the list. Yet, here you have a brilliant image, Madge. Brilliant!
Great photo, very arty!!!
What an amazing image! Great find and terrific shot.
That is an awesome shot!
love the chasis-and especially the color of them : )
