Rust, a term about the process of iron oxidation. I’ve always thought it interesting the common expression about rust is that it ‘eats,’ or ‘eats away,’ as if it had an appetite and were hungry, looking for something to devour. There is something very appealing about the color of rust, that beautiful burnt sienna color has always caught and drawn my eye. Here a large anchor chain crossing the stern of a fishing boat at Fishermen’s Terminal in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle captured my attention. Not only do I like the pleasing rusty chain (whose links were near football size), but the graceful curve it created as well. (Clicking on any image gives an enlarged view).
