Dark, turbulent looking storm clouds drape the sky behind this barn. Spring brings fast changing weather and here along Tilley Road near the small rural western Washington town of Tenino that is certainly true. The field is muddy and the tractor sits inside safely out of the weather waiting for a break in the rain to care for the fields surrounding it.

I can never get enough of old barns. Great capture!
A beautiful shot!
Those turbulent clouds really are impressive and form a wonderful backdrop for the barn.
I like that the tractor was in the barn. It really completes the scene.
A fine Barn Charm shot. A very nice barn with clouds that add so much to the picture. Very well done.
Another great one for your portfolio, Madge!
Wow! Great catch Madge! An other “printer” for the wall, yes?
Gorgeous photo of the sky behind the character of the barn
Your photography is gorgeous!!
That’s a beauty of a barn, for sure! Love the shape of it & all that dark barn wood! Gorgeous! That’s a great sky, too
Thank you for joining =)
This reminds me so much of that barn painting grandma did that’s hanging above the couch. Same barn?
Wow! Very dynamic shot! I like how you captured the ‘movement’ of those clouds, and the subtle colors of the barn with the dark evergreens in the background.
Those skies are amazing!
That is some sky. Great shot Madge.

makes you wonder how many storms that barn has weathered and is still standing so strong. Great shot!
Nice shot and photo work!

What a stunning portrait of a barn against angry skies. Found you on Hilary’s blog. Wonderful!
Barns make such good photographic subjects. Love the dramatic dark skies. Congratulations on POTW.
Beautiful and dramatic!
I live in Tenino, and have been down Tilley Road ALOT.. trying to figure out where this barn is.
Kari,
My sister lives in Little Rock and I often drive the back roads to get to her place and shoot along the way. I didn’t write down the road, but rely on my memory to recall locations when I get home and unload my shots into my laptop. I could be mistaken, but I’m quite sure this was on Tilley Road… (I sent you an email…:-))
