An early spring storm races across the Palouse while a school bus transports students home from school in the afternoon. The yellow bus passes a very straight, well kept red barn with white trim, which sits on the edge of a freshly plowed field along Highway 27 near the town of Latah, WA in Spokane County.
Spring brings cold rain, rain with snow and snow to the Palouse. This bus is equipped with automatic chains (you can see them dangling beneath the bus) which would be a welcome help in a region where the weather changes dramatically in the matter of a short time.
Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

Madge, I love the colors and mood you captured in this picture. I can almost feel the wet cold. The clouds are very intriguing.
Yes, great photo, I love the perspective and that wonderful sky, great light and color. Greetings.
Great shot! Your photos are always great, and your commentary just finishes them off perfectly. Thanks again!
I like the angle you used for this picture. It gives us the house and the action on the street. Good title too. Well done.
Terrific scene Madge!
Your pictures just keep getting better and better, Madge. I must say this is probably one of my favorites.
this is beautiful! yay for school bus drivers! ;)
That’s a beautiful barn and an awesome picture too! Love the addition of the bus.
This looks kind of surreal Madge. So, did you hang out on the side of the road as you knew when this bus was coming by the red barn or what?
No, just spur of the moment…
Madge, this is a wonderful photo! It is ‘calendar worthy’ just for September.
What a beautiful sky.
Madge…I’m assuming you photographed a fellow bus driver when you were visiting the eastern side of the state! I love this image.
Bravo, Madge, this one is a keeper. It needs to be framed. And maybe put on the wall of the bus drivers’ break room.
The photo is wonderful, and your commentary adds so much! I love this photo! There is so much to see here!

loved Lady alaska but chose this one to write on because it is fantastic, not just the photo itself, but the composition and the story it tells all alone with no words needed. this one gets a triple WOW from me
What a beautiful shot, Madge! I love the contrast of the red barn, the yellow school bus and that stunning sky!
I have another blogging friend who lives in The Pacific Northwest. The scenery is stunning.
