Red Barn on Potter Road in Viola ID

A spring storm passes behind a brightly painted red barn. Near the very rural, very small town of Viola, Idaho, I turned down Potter Road, having spotted this bright pop of red just off Highway 395. I’m unsure why, but there seem to be more ‘red’ barns in the Palouse than any other rural area I’ve ever visited. Sitting on the edge of a freshly plowed and planted field of spring wheat, this barn appears to have been spray painted and quite recently too. A neat stack of bricks await some application for a paving or building project and an open doorway beckons one to come inside.

Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

  1. Madge…This is a real beauty. What a great paint job and shingled roof. Now, that is unusual I have seen no shingled barns here in our county. They are all tin. Like that little side entryway. It interests me. Beautiful image. genie
