Wheat fields ripple and flow in a pleasing repeating pattern across the Palouse. Steptoe Butte rises 1,000 feet above the surrounding farmland giving an unsurpassed view of the emerald and umber fields far below and stretching out beyond its base. I thought you might like to see what I mean when I’ve said before that the Palouse has undulating hills, it’s a bit hard to understand or imagine without really seeing it and this view at dawn from Steptoe Butte gives you that understanding of the terrain.
Yesterday I mentioned that I will be traveling to Colfax for Spring Break, I may have inadvertently given the impression that was very soon, but alas, it is still about three and a half weeks away… can’t wait though.
In the mean time, the tax man commeth, I need to get our paperwork gathered, make out reports and set an appointment with the accountant. I had a small home business that I closed the end of 2011, so this is the last year I’ll need his help. Have you done yours?
Thanks for joining me today for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

That is an amazing photo, Madge!

Stupendous shot! Ready for framing.
Sadly I never made it to the Palouse, or to see the Channeled Scablands either, before moving east last summer. Yes my taxes are done and I owe nearly $2000 but the IRS isn’t gonna see their payment till April.

Ooh, aah, ooh ahh…Madge this is glorious!

Amazing landscape, Madge, great shot!
This landscape is similar to that of Tuscany / Italy.
This one is terrific, Madge. In some ways, it conveys the same feelings that photos of Tuscan fields convey.
Stunning!
This is a wonderful photo which shows the beauty of Eastern Washington. Wonderful colors, great composition, just a great picture!
Thank you for all these Palouse photos. I miss that great land and its people. There’s history and beauty over every hill.
Sweet memories! Thanks for sharing.
