Spring splendor on display and for sale. A local Seattle flower vendor preps his tulips, daffodils and cherry branches for customers to buy and enjoy at home. Of the many offerings at Pike Place Market, flowers are a big part of what is sold these days. These merchants occupy the daily or temporary stalls that at one time were filled by local farmers selling produce.
There are still a few local farmers who sell produce at the market, but not nearly as many as 25 or 30 years ago when the valleys surrounding Seattle were still rural and filled with truck farms and not warehouses like today. You can still buy just about any type of produce you need or want at the market, you just buy from permanent vendors who buy from suppliers.
Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

This looks so colourful and bright. The perfect picture to contrast the grey clouds and drizzle i see from my windows today.
great colors!
very pretty. linkytools is still having fits this morning, so i’ll try to link in later…
Beautiful composition Madge, and of course, lovely subject matter!
Oh, my. I’ve never been to a flower market. I would go nuts. And bankrupt!
Your shots are always so interesting!
I like both the photo (good angle) and the availability of flowers!
I’ll link later.
Very good and nice photo.
I love Seattle, hope to come and live there some day.
How pretty! I’m happy I have both daffodils and cherry blossoms in my yard.
Wow, this is nice! I think the closet thing to a flower vendor around my area is the selection at Sam’s Club or Costco…how sad is that?!
Fantastic composition, Madge – the flower market must be a sight to behold! Someday maybe?
So very beautiful and interesting also. Grabbed my eye on Google as well.
So glad you stopped . Thanks for keeping on trying even with blogger not working. I was redoing my blog when it all crashed on me leaving me with some missing gadgets as well.
Have a wonderful night and Sunday.
Excellent shot!
Love that shot, Madge! Very intimate, but not intrusive.
I always enjoy a peek at the big city life. Lovely photo again this week. Here in the desert we look forward to some spring color. Thanks for an early look.
This is very nice, thanks for sharing and for encouraging others.
Lovely shot, Madge! Thanks!
Lovely shot, Madge. It really does say “Spring is here”!
I love flowers !!! ..happy spring !! ….love Ria……xxx…
So pretty! I wish we had vendors and shops here like that!
gorgeous Madge!
There is something so very, very divine about flower markets.
Lovely flowers, it’s a shame about the lack of farm-fresh produce though.
Wonderful photo, I love the composition and colours, the light is wonderful too.
I’m loving this image and have enjoyed looking through some older posts too (love the barber shop!) You take an excellent photograph of a very beautiful and interesting place. :-)
That photo more lovely, I love the color of those flowers.
It’s so lovely when you pass by a field of flowers, and such a shame when they go away in favor of building. But I suppose the building fuels the economy more than the flowers. Thankfully there are still vendors who bring them to town for you to enjoy.
Too bad about the server issues! I’m sure that was frustrating! Thanks for hosting this and for stopping by my blog!
