Fall is in the air… These Douglas Fir trees gracing the Cascade foothills above the lake at Salmon la Sac beyond Rosyln and Ronald WA on the east side of the mountains, stand like sentinels in the clouds. There was some fall color but not nearly as much as I would have liked when we took a day trip to see it. But a day away, with a camera in hand is always enjoyable while exploring out of the way places.
Very nice shot, Madge. Really makes me wish I was living back in southeast Alaska again.
I doesn’t look so northwest (all the way to Alaska)! ;-)
Monochrome by God. beautiful
Yes… He is the perfect composer!
gorgeous…dreamy and magical!
Thanks… it really was. :-)
Well shot Madge – can almost feel the damp!
It was a bit damp Paul… you know that feeling… all northwesterners do! ;-)
it is beautiful
Thank you…
Magical !!
Thanks, Karl!
Wow! The kind of photos you find in good table top photobooks.
Thank you! :-)
That is just lovely!
Thank you, Maria…
I was ‘above the clouds’ this weekend too. THIS is a much better image. Reminds me of “Snow Falling on Cedars” cover.
You ARE right! It does look very much like the cover of ‘Snow Falling on Cedars,’ which of course was set on a fictional island in Puget Sound…
Nice photo! I love the deep dark green of the trees.
Thank you so much, Michaele…
So beautiful! This time of year is lovely, isn’t it?
Thanks, Sandra… I agree it is a lovely time of year, I enjoy the color and the quick changing weather….
What an amazing photograph!
Thanks, Randy! ;-)
Absolutely stunning!
It was a view that made me want to button up my down vest a bit tighter and sip my coffee longer and just breathe!
Great photo, very moody.
It was a peaceful scene…
One of the main reasons I grow herbs is for the aroma therapy. I run my hands through them to release some of the oils and breathe deep. Everything seems better afterwards. :-)
This picture is gorgeous and dreamy! I’m sure my Dad knows where this is, but I don’t know my way around on the east side of the mountains, so I’ll have to look it up on a map. It truly is beautiful there.
Sitting in a quiet place like this really refreshes my soul… do go find it… you’ll be glad you did!
Absolutely magical! Gorgeous shot.
Thanks, JM… it was a magical break away from the hustle of city life…
Wow! What a fabulous photo!
Thanks, Kathy… ;-)
