A homeowner’s sense of subtle humor is displayed on his mailbox which is a rusty, though useful, relic. You may have heard one of these quips: ‘Real Washingtonians aren’t tan, the rain washes the color out of our skin!’ or ‘Washingtonians don’t tan, they rust!’ or perhaps ‘Real Washingtonians know that there are no natural ways to get a tan!’ Here a mailbox in the small town of Roslyn WA proudly declares ‘In Seattle You RUST.’ Rust is a beautiful thing and sort of tan-ish… right??
Rust is so much more interesting than polish and paint. We get pretty rusty over here in England too!
I agree… it has character… yes, I’ll be you all sport great shades of ‘rust’ too! :-)
I think rusting gives you much more character than tanning:-) Nice shot Madge. The touch of green really makes the shot stand out.
Well, I’m a true Washingtonian, because the rain washes all the color out of my skin… lol!
i like it very much!
Me, too! ;-)
A favorite pasttime here too. Rust… it never sleeps! hahahaha
Ah… I do understand!!
Hysterical, wonderful capture!
I was walking along getting a couple shots of some garden gates and up popped the mailbox… couldn’t resist!
Awesome shot!
It presented itself while I was getting a couple garden gate shots…
That kind of humour I like!
I do too!!
