Pick Quick Drive-In is located at 4306 Pacific Highway East (old Highway 99) in Fife, WA. It opened in the late 1940s and is still operated by the same family. I have eaten here for years. The food is great and inexpensive. The mood and food is very similar to Miner’s Drive-In in Yakima, WA and Zeke’s near Index, WA on Highway 2. Burgers, shakes and malts are delicious and available in many flavors and made with seasonal fresh fruit.
The building is quite small, so no indoor seating is available, but outside next to the building is a large, flower festooned, well groomed picnic area. Locals flock here for their favorite burger and sides and it is always busy. If you come, plan to stand in line, but patience has its reward, good old fashioned burgers served by friendly staff. The business closes for the months of December and January. Pick Quick has been nominated for Best Burger Joint in ‘The Best of Western Washington 2010,’ on ‘Evening Magazine,’ a local program on KING 5 TV. Madge, thanks for stopping by my blog as well. :-) My favorite burger joint serves something called a “peppercorn burger”, smothered in small onion rings, I think a blue cheese dressing and cooked how you like it (I like it rare) Typing this out is making me hungry. :-)
