The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival draws thousands of visitors and tourists to the valley year after year to view the beautiful fields carpeted with brilliantly colored tulips. The full bloom is usually on in mid to late April. I’ve never been anyplace where so many photographers were attracted at one time, each sporting long lenses and a tripod and competing for position to get that perfect shot! Parking along the narrow road shoulders is also prime real estate during the festival as well. If you plan on going, wear layers and mud/waterproof foot wear as the fields are soft and often wet, but the reward is beautiful photos to enjoy again and again!
