A Pacific Northwest Photography Blog

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Your daily news is served with the sounds of fish mongers and the smell of fresh coffee and pastries. On the corner of First Avenue and Pike Street, you’ll find ‘Read All About It, News, Papers and Magazines.’ At an open entrance from the First Avenue sidewalk, the racks facing the arcade hold just about every variety of magazine you can imagine.

While the opposite side of racks hold over 100 newspapers from around the world. Often when I visit the Market, I stop by to peruse the headlines. I see many people ‘reading,’ not buying, but the employees don’t seem to mind.

Editing Information: Both images were shot with my Pentax semi fish-eye 10-17mm lens and had barrel distortion.  Using Photoshop CS5, I duplicated the background layer and then chose from the ‘edit’ menu ‘transform.’  From the ‘transform’ menu I chose ‘warp,’ then dragging the distorted portions of the images to create a straighter perspective for each.
