Pick Quick Drive In - Fife, WA

Pick Quick Drive-In is located at 4306 Pacific Highway East (old Highway 99) in Fife, WA. It opened in the late 1940s and is still operated by the same family. I have eaten here for years. The food is great and inexpensive. The mood and food is very similar to Miner’s Drive-In in Yakima, WA and Zeke’s near Index, WA on Highway 2. Burgers, shakes and malts are delicious and available in many flavors and made with seasonal fresh fruit.

Pick Quick Outdoor Picnic Area

The building is quite small, so no indoor seating is available, but outside next to the building is a large, flower festooned, well groomed picnic area. Locals flock here for their favorite burger and sides and it is always busy. If you come, plan to stand in line, but patience has its reward, good old fashioned burgers served by friendly staff. The business closes for the months of December and January. Pick Quick has been nominated for Best Burger Joint in ‘The Best of Western Washington 2010,’ on ‘Evening Magazine,’ a local program on KING 5 TV. What is your favorite old fashioned burger joint like?

  • Thank you for your visit , Madge. It is quite something for a takeaway joint to have operated so long under the same ownership. I guess that speaks volumes about the quality of the food.

  • Madge, thanks for stopping by my blog as well. 🙂 My favorite burger joint serves something called a “peppercorn burger”, smothered in small onion rings, I think a blue cheese dressing and cooked how you like it (I like it rare) Typing this out is making me hungry. 🙂

  • Not many left like this, I’m afraid.

  • Hello, Madge! This looks like a fun place! And so does your blog. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the Bloggyhood!
And thanks especially for your kind words on the loss of our Gracie. I am sad to know you have been through the same, but as you have, I must remember so many other little furry pals need homes. I hope Lucy is doing well. (We have a a Lucy, she is a black cocker). My side bar features a little boy we have been fostering. Coma again, please!

  • Ooops…make that COME again soon! No comas allowed!

  • Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to leave a comment. I would love to try this place it looks welcoming.

    • Evelyn Spikes: It’s pretty easy to see that it’s located in a damp climate! And, “No, I don’t believe I would want to drink water from it.” Great shot, though.
    • Jo Ann Bayne: I’d rather not drink water from that tank – but it is being put to a good use for the tech equipment – better than erecting one more unsightly cell phone tower.

    • Nonnie: no, it wasn’t TMI! thanks for informing me about Queen Anne’s Lace other moniker. I’d be tickled if someone chose my name for an animal.
    • Evelyn Spikes: Strange yellow…but I agree that it’s pretty! Albino, maybe? 😉
