Euphorbia Myrsinites - Chartreuse Flowers

Euphorbia Myrsinites – is a charming plant that deserves to be better known. The Myrtle Spurge is an easy, tough, tidy groundcover and one of the most useful and highly ornamental plants to grow in the garden.

Here,

while at Daniel Smith Artists Supply in the

SODO district of Seattle,

my eye was captured by these brilliant chartreuse flowers

standing about two to two and a half feet tall.

I thought they were ‘Bells of Ireland,’

but when I looked them up,

while they had an almost identical color,

it was not the correct plant.

Doing a little searching

I found out it is a type of ‘Spurge,’

from the southern Mediterranean countries, like Greece, Italy, Turkey,

Montenegro, Bosnia even extending to Iran,

and thrives from sea-level to the mountain slopes.

I found a couple places on the internet

that sell seeds,

I may have

to get a

packet.
