Delicious with melted butter, Manila Clams are a common Pacific Northwest seafood.

Offered at the City Fish Market,
a fish monger at Pike Place Market, sells these locally grown and harvested clams.
Here,
I’ve caught the beautiful textures and colors of the shells of clams
raised in Penn Cove off Whidbey Island
in northern Puget Sound.

Today,
is ‘Random 5 Friday,’
over at my friend Nancy’s place, ‘A Rural Journal,’
where we link up a post with some facts about ourselves.
Here are my five:
(1) I love buttermilk and plain yogurt.
(2) I love and wear cowboy boots. I have three pair of Lucchese handmade boots, two pair of Tony Lamas, and two pairs of Nocona.
(3) If I could afford a pair of ‘Old Gringo’ boots it would be sweet.
(4) I vacuum my silk flowers to keep them clean.
(5) Pulled pork sandwiches are a favorite of mine.

There you go,
see you tomorrow for
‘Weekly Top Shot #93.’

beautiful clam shells. guess there are worse addictions than to cowboy boots. :)
The colors in the clam shells are gorgeous! I like plain yogurt but would have to pass on the buttermilk. Pulled pork is one of my favorites too. YUM!! :)
Great close up with some nice textures.
I am coming over for dinner… Oh how I miss living near the coast.
They are all so beautiful . Gifts from the sea.. I had one pair of cowboy boots and wore them to death.
Lovely clam shells. Great photo!
How do you keep the flowers from being sucked into the vacuum cleaner? I’ve tried that before, but end up wrestling with the vacuum for my flowers! Do tell!
very nice shot of the clams…makes me wish for melting butter, a mess of friends and a cold beer….
A very strong close up shot of these clams. I really like the capture of the subtle variations in color.
I don’t them but gosh that sure is a terrific macro Madge!
Love the cowboy boot confession — we’d like to see some photos please. :)
Thanks for joining in this week Madge. Much appreciated.
