Caffeine and sugar create a strong buzz with which to power into one’s day and begin work. The soft tapping of a laptop keyboard indicates work is getting done while this young woman enjoys a window seat, just after Macrina Bakery opened its doors at 6am. Who knows what project is underway or deadline looms, but she is to be commended for her diligence.

I always wonder what everyone is working on when I see them in the local coffeeshops and bookstores just typing away.
Perfectly captured… wonderful shot!
Beautiful capture. I must visit Seattle’s beautiful bakeries and coffee shops!
It’s a wonderful capture, and a beautiful setting!
Awesome photo…what fabulous work you do.
Thanks so much for sharing and hosting.
I don’t think you ever sleep!
But, I’m assuming you do and are just a very early riser…
I’ve always loved your “on the street” photos…I feel like something of a voyeur.
Even though every one your photograph is in plain sight :)
Thanks for another great post and photographic inspiration.
that was supposed to be: every one in your photographs is in plain sight
Even with caffiene – or tannic acid! – I don’t know how people get it together so early in the morning!
Ahhhhhhh, coffee and donuts…you can’t beat ’em! But at 6 AM, I can’t get into work-mode yet. Blogging yes, working no! Great capture!
that’s a pretty shot.
Looks like a lovely place to start the day!
Excellent early morning capture in SODO, Madge.
I always love seeing your photos of early morning life in the “city,” they are so different from MY early mornings! What, no goats to milk?!? LOL!!
I agree with Paul, I don’t know how some people do it.
What an excellent shot! I have to give street photography a try. Your photos just give me an itch to give it a go!!

Love the ceiling lights in this photo — very dramatic. :)
If ya gotta work, caffeine is a fine start!
I like this almost painterly impression of the cafe’s early morning hour. Wonderful Madge!
I love photos like this!
Thanks for hosting,
Lori
Nice interior shots- great lighting.
A very nice mood captured in this shot, Madge. But, a picture of a young woman working at 6 a.m. doesn’t happen unless there is a photographer also working at 6 a.m. Go back to bed!
I like this. You managed to make it interesting and capture the atmosphere.
