Early dawn view looking east northeast across the Foss Waterway from the Murray Morgan Bridge on East 11th Street towards the newer East 21st Street suspension bridge and the Tacoma Dome behind. The bridge deck at 72 feet wide carries four lanes of traffic on SR 509, the span is 992 feet in length and the towers are 180 feet tall. Opened on January 22, 1997, it is only one of two cable stayed suspension bridges in the State of Washington, (the other bridge is on SR 397 in Pasco-Kennewick at a length of 2,503 feet).
Another fantastic one! Had to call hubby over to check it out too. That bridge made me do a double take to figure it out.
