I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas… Piano! Probably one of the most loved secular Christmas songs of all time is ‘White Christmas,’ made so popular by Bing Crosby in the 1954 movie by the same title. When I ‘sing’ ‘White Christmas’ in my mind, it is always in his voice. While in downtown Seattle early this morning, capturing the spirit of the season, I saw this beautiful display in the Sherman and Clay Music store, a gleaming white piano. Manufactured by Kohler and Campbell (est. 1896), this baby grand retails for about $10,000, just a tad out of my price range (speaking tongue in cheek of course). If money were no object, I’d buy it for my sister Patti, who plays beautifully and would look lovely sitting on this bench tickling the ivories to her heart’s content. Wouldn’t that be a sweet way to say, ‘I love you, Merry Christmas!’ Sigh…

wow moment right here!
A lovely thought nonetheless Madge. Margie.
how sweet. :)
Greetings, Madge! I’ve been trying for some time to get on your blog but was unable to do so. A couple of times I did reach your blog but couldn’t leave a comment. I have no idea what the problem was, but I’m so glad that it has been resolved.
We love this piano. We have a black baby grand in our home. The white, though, is very striking and especially appropriate for the holidays. I was surprised at the price. That is extremely reasonable for a baby grand! Most of them I’ve seen run $12k or more. And a Steinway…well, they are really proud of their pianos!
Hope that all is well, and I shall return!
Just perfect. Looking for the men in their white dinner jackets and the women in their furs and pearls.
That is one elegant piano! I would have guessed the price even higher. Wonderfully decorated storefront!
Compared to the prices on verticals, that’s actually quite affordable.
Very nice, very nice!!! =)
That’s a little one.
The window looks charming Madge, pictures of singing around the piano at Christmas come to mind, but I bet that your sister Patti would look lovely and play beautifully whichever piano she was playing!
Great present for my wife!
Also I have just linked to another site called the Emerald City, 2 guys from Seattle who now live in Sydney, Seattles is also The Emerald City!
Very very nice and lovely scene!
A lovely holiday window.
