Golden daffodils dance in the sun, protected beneath the bare trees. Isn’t it true that you and I have mental pictures of sights that speak ‘Spring!’ to our hearts and minds. Several that speak the season of new life to me are pussy willows, daffodils and Easter.
Daffodils especially hold that feeling of spring to me; my birthday is in early spring. This year my birthday falls on Easter Sunday for the ninth time in my life. One of my most remembered birthdays was turning sixteen. My dad took my sister and I out to a delicious dinner in a local steakhouse. At the end of our meal, I was surprised with a small gift box that contained a lovely gold wrist watch and a beautifully crafted birthday cake decorated with fresh daffodils.
My dad was an indefatigable and adept gardener. The gardens around my childhood home were a profusion of color, shape and scent from early spring to late fall. Daffodils were among the first to pop out of the fallow ground, bursting into a pageant of bright yellow joy! This view on a rural farmstead of daffodils dancing in the spring breeze, under the trees and against the fence reminds me of him and stirs my daffodil memories.
Thanks for joining me today for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

I agree, Daffodils are forever associated with spring. (And my BD is 3 days after Easter!)
that’s really beautiful, madge. the bark of the tree is lovely as are the daffys, of course.
That’s just beautiful, Madge! I like the fence, the texture of the tree bark, and the flowers are gorgeous! Wonderful shot!
