Beginning about February 1st this year,

we had snowfall after snowfall, accumulating until

at the maximum we had about 30″

on the ground.

It was cold,

at and below freezing for weeks,

causing the snow to last in total on our town at 1000 feet in elevation,

in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in southwest Washington

for shy of eight weeks.

Our town had snow plow piles that were 6 to 8 feet tall,

white ‘mountains’ of cold, blocking the sidewalks,

driveways and life as we knew it!

Snow is still partially covering Johnson Mountain at 4600 feet.

Thinking back now, it seems so long ago, but in truth snow was on the ground just 3 weeks ago!

It has warmed up into the 50s and 60s and a couple of days into the 70s even.

My tomato plants are about 3 inches tall out in the greenhouse,

waiting for those balmy early summer days.

I thought before the season was totally past,

I should post a snowy photo or two.

What about you, how’s your weather been

this winter season?

Whatever Mr Trump has to say on the subject we get a lot less snowfall than when I was younger. That’s a very beautiful picture. And that’s exactly how I like my snow these days – in pictures!

Hi John, I do love the snow, and the change of seasons, but at 8 weeks of covered ground, slippery conditions to walk our dog Lucy, I was ready for a warm wind and some rain to wash it away, thankfully it did! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Beautiful scene. I can relate to the hills of snow everywhere, only ours are still in the process of melting. It is not all that warm most days, but one of these days the warmth will return.
