Almost a week ago,
I was out shooting on Alki Beach in West Seattle.
This is one of the last images I captured that chilly, early morning.
A view of the brilliant orb of the sun rising quickly
over northern tip of Beacon Hill.

While shooting a sequence of shots,
a seagull flew by and I caught him in flight at the perfect moment in the scene,
‘click,’ and it was good.

The building to the left
was originally Pacific Medical Center,
that was also Amazon’s corporate headquarters a few years back,
now they’ve moved to new office towers
in the booming neighborhood of South Lake Union,
north of downtown Seattle.

This resolution and detail in this shot are not bad,
considering I was standing about two miles from there,
looking across Elliott Bay, over the northern tip of Harbor Island
and Interstate 5 which feeds workday traffic
into downtown Seattle.
