Goody two, goody two.. Goody, goody two shoes. What an odd term of derision that is and one I don’t like. Honestly it has nothing to do with my image today. I simply like trying to title my posts in a clever or descriptive manner (not that I’m all that clever or good with words) but I enjoy trying. Out on a photo jaunt recently with my daughter, we meandered around downtown Seattle, ending up at the Pike Place Market. While parking, just in front of my Honda Element on a wooden ledge of the building we both spotted this pair of men’s shoes. So what’s a photographer to do, shoot everything, right? So there it is, my top shot for the week… what’s yours?

You have such a great talent for making the ordinary seem extraordinary! Great photo!
I must echo Anne’s comment above! You’re a really great photographer!
Love your play on words! You find the most interesting things, Madge!
Hi Madge! Oh, I love how the colors in your photo are so harmonious–the browness of the shoes and the beige/brown edge of the wooden ledge. Great composition! This tells a story, too. I wonder who left his shoes behind and why? Intriguing. Have a nice weekend! :)
this is indeed a TOP SHOT…. love it.
Yep! You’ve got a great eye and super technique. And you could play with the title further: “Goody! Two shoes!”
Ouch! I just saw that you were injured. It sounds like work has gotten off to a difficult start this year. Take good care of yourself!
wonderful twist on a still life madge!
Certainly there’s a story behind this photo! Hope you are feeling better Madge. xo
Cool shot of an everyday item! Hope you are starting to feel better, Madge. :)
Hope you fully recover soon. Not a pleasant week for so many.
Ha ha…I would’ve snapped a pic, too! :)
I love to find interesting, odd things to photograph, love the shoes. It keeps my mind sharp to always be looking for a good shot.
Nice capture! Therewould be a story behind your photo.
Wishing you a wonderful Sunday.
You have a skill in making the uninteresting look interesting!
What a great find…but I wonder who lost them!
Love the title.
I for one smiled when I saw the photo and title together. :)
A great shot!
Have to wonder who would forget a pair of seemingly good shoes.
You literally create beauty from everything!
There is a story here, Madge, even if I don’t know what it is.
Your good two shoes are in a perfect spot! And of course the eye of a photographer can see this:)
Love the combination of the worn timber and the leather textures. Great shot!
The depth of field does the trick for this photo.
Fantastic capture! I may not have shot them, but glad you did & shared it w/ us =)
What a great picture! Who would have thought a pair of shoes could be such an interesting subject!! :)
LOVE this … I’ve posted similar ‘found’ shoe shots now twice … once a pair was left in front of a newspaper machine and the other time it was a pair of nice looking running shoes left on a bench in Riverside Park ..
Great picture! What happened to the owner?? Caught a fish and ran? ;)
Ha, these do look like two good shoes! I like your close-up approach and the color scheme. Wonderful entry Madge :^)
Interesting shot.
I wonder if that’s a Pacific NW thing. My daughter finds the strangest articles of clothing around Portland. Love that you thought to photograph it! Such a curious and neat find. and well-photographed, too. :)
Exquisite composition, nice color. Excellent.
Wonder where the feet are that belong to the shoes? This reminds me of tennis shoes I have seen tied together and hanging off of telephone lines… :)
Cool capture… one of those shots you could easily miss!
love the shoes. A great processing of the shot.
Thanks for hosting. :)
Great shot , i remember the nursery rhyme ” There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe” :)
